Downloading & installing liveGate

Supported platforms

liveGate is currently available for Unix systems: Linux, FreeBSD, or Mac OS X. (Remember that liveGate is run on a computer that's already be on the Multicast Internet - aka. "MBone".)

Unix

Choose your platform: Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X.

Linux (GNU/Linux/x86)

  1. Download the file liveGate.tar.gz
  2. Run: 
    tar -xzf liveGate.tar.gz
  3. Create a configuration file named "liveGateInit", and store it in the same directory as "liveGate". For instructions on how to set up this file, see the configuration instructions, or the "liveGateInit.example" file.

FreeBSD

  1. Download the file liveGate.tar.gz
  2. Run: 
    tar -xzf liveGate.tar.gz
  3. Create a configuration file named "liveGateInit", and store it in the same directory as "liveGate". For instructions on how to set up this file, see the configuration instructions, or the "liveGateInit.example" file.

Mac OS X

  1. Download the file liveGate.tar.gz
  2. Run:
